Sooooo, yesterday the video for “Black Chukkas” (see above) premiered on BET’s 106 and Park….and judging from Facebook and Twitter, yall eff with, HEAVY. For that, I thank you BET and everybody at 106 and Park, Terrence J, Rocsi, the whole staff.
It’s good to know in this climate of music where going outside of the box with your art isn’t always held in the same regard as looking like and doing what everyone else is. Hence why you don’t my face until the end. I needed you guys (and girls) to take in the shots and camera angles used to tell the story of day in the life (in L.A.) of my shoes. I appreciate the support, truly.
BIG shout again to Chris Robinson and Iren Sheffield (ROBOT Films) for directing this epic piece of
4-minute filmmaking.

Before we took the stage for the Hot 97/Hennessy Artistry Event at Brooklyn Bowl. Asher and I got a chance to catch up. It’s a been awhile, my man has come along way since he bodied the “Cannon” beat. He’s killing it, and I couldn’t be happier for him. Philly stand up!

Rehearsal.

There are alot of parallels between sports and music. You gotta work out, eat right, keep your body healthy in able to perform and compete at the highest level. This is the same with practice, or in my case rehearsal. I learned when I was younger playing football and basketball, that how you practice is 9 times out of 10 how you’ll play. Yeah…we talkin bout practice.
This is why I go 110% in rehearsal, because the show I bring to the stage has to be nothing less than that. I pride myself on pushing myself (and my team) to be and do better than what’s ‘expected’ of us. You hear it more work. You see it my show.
I’m not letting up.
That said, THANK YOU to everybody that came out to Brooklyn Bowl the other night. We made history.
