THE HUNDREDS presents SOME DREAMS NEVER SLEEP [EP]

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011

If yall only knew what it took to get to this point. Alot of sleepless nights, missed flights, and food fights. LOL This is all a dream come true man. What started as my idea has become our reality. And I’m only getting warmed up. There we’re times where I questioned if this music shit is really gonna work out, but I look at the people that depend on me and want to see me “do it”….and remind myself, that there’s no turning back.

Next thing you know one of my favorite brands reaches out to work with me, then I’m sitting in a studio with Sha Money and NO I.D., BET invites me to the awards, I’m in Atlanta rhyming for Swizz Beatz, then DMX pulls me aside to give me some of the realest advice. How do I not keep pushing?

Being an independent artist has its ups and downs, but the beauty of it is your connection the people. This is who I make this music for. I met a kid named Nick last night at my show, that said he recently moved to NYC from Kentucky because my music inspired him to pursue his dreams. I met a girl in the airport last week who said my songs got her thru a rough break up. And I get people all the time telling me how hard “Reflections” hits home. The list goes on, but at the end of the day its just reminder of the impact words can have on a person’s life. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be heard.

I throw the word “dreams” around alot because its whats drive us in our day-to-day. They motivate us and enlighten us to the possibilities and realities of life. Don’t ever let anyone tell you you can’t do something. If you can think it, you can do it.

Some Dreams Never Sleep EP (Trailer)

Tuesday, September 13th, 2011

It’s funny how things work out.
Around this time last year, I was just coming off the release off my debut 87 Dreams and entering a whole new chapter of my life. This music has put me in the presence of great company, people I’ve dreamed of working with. Finding out they are fans of my shit too is even iller.

This year is no different, but the music is. The 87 Dreams 2 Reality project that I’ve been tweeting about the last couple months has taken on a new form. And via God’s grace, I’ve recently met and talked to some very important people that think it deserves a bigger platform. With that said, I’ve gotta push that release back for now.
I’m not gone leave yall hangin though. I’m releasing Some Dreams Never Sleep on September 27th.
It’s an 8-song EP featuring some of the faces you’re gonna see in the trailer below.

I can’t wait for yall to hear this shit.

Dreams do come true.

BEHIND SMMERTME + SUNSHNE + NGHTFALL

Monday, June 27th, 2011

What do I even say here? #SSN drops Thursday. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look into how it all came to be. But Its much deeper than rap.
Not only am I working my ass off to raise the bar with this music, its only right the visual match up. Everything my team and I are about is about pushing the limit, constantly getting better and evolving into the individuals we’re destined to be. This mini-movie below is a true testament to that. Envision and Presented by none other than Mr. JWhi himself. Enjoy.

Austin, Texas is the next stop on this #Experience87 journey of mine. I’m here for the next 4 days for SXSW. I have 6 showcases, this weekend (flyers below), but like any out-of-town you got kick it all off with a good meal. So after we got all checked in, credentials and shit we hit the streets in search of grub.

Owl City.

Broad and Cecil B. is the crossroads of college and culture. For those of you reading from outside of Philly. This intersection is the heart of Temple (University) campus. I used to live one block over in The Edge on 15th. China House (and Temple Garden on the late night) was my shit, used to eat there like everyday. 3 wings and shrimp fried rice (Fese what up!) and Raak used to go in on the General Tso’s exxxxtra spicy, and the $3 wontons was like the best you ever had in your life.

Grub aside, whatever mixtape I wasn’t downloading I got from Phenomenal. They’re one of few last standing indie record stores in the city. So being home on the eve of my EOV release party I had to make sure I stopped by and dropped my CD off.
