I found myself not sleeping much the night before. That said I was up early watching videos. A couple hours pass, the 12 o’clock hour swings around, there I am. I can’t really describe the feeling, but seeing yourself on MTV (Jams), on a day dedicated to the city you love and call home, is surreal. I’ve had a video cameo here and there, but this was different. This was me, featured. My mom was speechless, as was I and my cousins.
See, life is about progression, and to me this marks the beginning of the special. It’s hard to explain, but I hope yall feel what I’m feeling right now. I spent the rest that afternoon with my family before heading over to The Compound Show, Hosted by Set Free on Volta Radio. We talked about my upcoming project 87 Dreams, Philadelphia Freeway came through too and we chopped it up about Philly Day and how big it was for MTV to show our city love. I feel like it restored alot of pride in the city especially within the artist community. I’m proud to be apart of both, and can’t wait to see what comes of it. Shout to everybody featured, past and present.
